BEER & WINE
GARDEN
Located next to the Main Stage
at the far end of the field, the beer and wine garden is a shady
spot with cold drinks on a hot summer day. “Big Green,”
as we affectionately call the Budweiser truck, has four taps
that keep flowing with Bud, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra and a
specialty beer that changes from year to year. At only $3 for
a 16 oz. cup it’s one of the best bargains on the field.
And talk about location, location, location! If you could get
any closer to the music you’d be playing in the band!
If your taste gravitates towards
the grape plan to visit the wine bar operated by Duplin Winery.
If they make it you can sample it, buy it and enjoy it right
there under our big tent. This is the 7th time we’ve partnered
with Duplin to produce a specialty wine for our festival. This
year’s offering, “Stone Bay Blush” is a semi-dry
table wine. Not only is it great alone or with a meal, it makes
a perfect gift for those out-of-town friends and relatives.
Residents and visitors alike have
been collecting our festival wines since we rolled out our first
commemorative bottle of “Shrimply Red” in 2003.
It proved to be so popular that we continued working with Duplin
to create special formulations for every festival. Shrimply
Red begat Watermen’s White, Ms. Bernice’s Bubbly,
New River Red, Wild Caught White and Reel Red.
We bottle limited quantities specifically
for the Shrimp Festival. And because they’re specially
formulated for our festival once they’re gone - they’re
gone. We sell out every year so don’t wait too long after
it becomes available or you’ll be buying it on E-bay!
We’re looking forward to
seeing you at our beer and wine tent. Just a reminder: you must
enjoy your beverage of choice within the fenced area. And, we
ID EVERYBODY (even if you’re celebrating your 90th birthday)
so come prepared with a photo ID. Have fun, but drink responsibly
and have a designated driver. We want you back next year, safe
and sound!
